In 2012 we supported the LEED certification process for a project of approximately 45,000 m² at the Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow, providing LEED consultancy and energy modelling.
LEED gives project teams a shared framework for sustainability, covering areas such as energy, water, materials and indoor environmental quality. As consultants, our role is to help the team understand what the requirements mean in practice and how to meet them.
Energy modelling plays a central part in that work. It simulates how a building is likely to use energy, allowing design options to be compared and improved before construction.
Educational and research buildings are used intensively and often house demanding technical spaces, so thoughtful guidance early on can make a lasting difference to how they perform. This project is part of our sustainability consultancy portfolio for such environments.
