In 2005 we developed the detailed design of HVAC systems and ship-service controls for the FREMM programme, working for Aster on behalf of Fincantieri.
FREMM is the Franco-Italian programme of multi-mission frigates. Naval vessels place high demands on their systems: they must operate reliably in varied climates and conditions, in compact spaces, and alongside many other onboard services.
Detailed design is where HVAC systems and their controls are fully defined, so that they can be built, installed and operated as intended. Ship-service controls allow these systems to be managed as a coordinated whole.
The FREMM assignment forms part of our specialist marine engineering portfolio, together with projects such as the Indian Fleet Tanker and Queen Mary 2.
