In 2014 we carried out an energy audit for Allianz premises in Milan, covering approximately 2,000 m².
The audit addressed the European energy efficiency framework and used an approach based on ASHRAE energy audit levels I, II and III.
ASHRAE describes these levels as increasing steps of detail. A Level I audit is a walk-through review that highlights low-cost opportunities. Level II adds a fuller survey and analysis of energy use and savings measures. Level III examines capital-intensive improvements with more detailed data and analysis.
Working through the levels gives an owner a clear picture that grows with each step, from quick improvements to longer-term investments. It is a sound way to plan energy efficiency for a building in use.
