Our work on the TAO 88 residential building in Milan combined building services engineering with LEED consultancy. The project covers approximately 1,800 m² of residential development.
TAO 88 became the first CasaClima Gold residential complex in Milan. CasaClima is an energy certification system born in South Tyrol, and its Gold class is reserved for buildings with very low heating demand.
Reaching that level depends on the building and its systems working closely together. A well-insulated envelope reduces the need for heating, and efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems make the most of what energy is still required.
Pairing this engineering with LEED consultancy allowed us to look at the building's sustainability from several angles at once, from energy to comfort for the people who live there.
