LEED is the green building rating system of the U.S. Green Building Council, with certification administered by GBCI. LEED v5 moves the system from efficiency towards impact: carbon becomes the organising principle, with prerequisites built around decarbonisation, quality of life and ecological conservation.
Since 2026, the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP exams are based on LEED v5, and new commercial projects register under v5. For anyone working on certified projects, or preparing for a credential, v5 is now the version that matters.
Every BD+C credit category, read for intent, compliance path and the documentation it needs, alongside the structural changes that set v5 apart.
The certification process, Minimum Program Requirements, certification levels and the roles of USGBC and GBCI.
The carbon-centred prerequisites, including the quantification of embodied carbon.
Resilience and climate risk as part of project design.
Updated requirements for verifying performance after construction.
Each BD+C credit category, read for intent, compliance path and the documentation it needs.
What changes from LEED v4, and how it affects certification strategy.
Designing projects that will pursue LEED.
Coordinating certification on behalf of a project team.
Who need to understand what v5 asks of a project.
Whose products contribute to LEED credits.
Responsible for performance after handover.
Professionals preparing for a LEED credential.
A clear picture of how LEED v5 is structured and why it changed.
The ability to read a prerequisite or credit for its intent, not only its checklist.
An understanding of what carbon accounting and performance verification ask of a project team.
Case studies from buildings certified by our own team.
The course builds the knowledge behind the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP credentials. It is not an exam-preparation course, but it is a solid reference for candidates. Professionals who already hold a LEED credential do not retake the exam for v5; they maintain it through continuing education hours.
