We supported the major renovation of a multifamily residential building in Barcelona under LEED v4 Multifamily Midrise. The project covers approximately 2,200 m² and achieved LEED Gold.
Our services included LEED Green Rater activities, HERS Rater activities, energy modelling and sustainability consultancy.
In residential LEED projects, the Green Rater verifies on site that the sustainability measures have been put in place, and the HERS Rater assesses the energy performance of the homes. Both roles rely on inspection and testing rather than paperwork alone.
Renovation brings its own opportunities. Improving an existing building can raise comfort and efficiency for residents while making good use of the structure that is already there. This project shows how a thoughtful renovation can reach a high level of certification.
