Roma – Via R. Birolli 19 is an upgraded industrial facility that delivers certified environmental performance within a consolidated urban context.
Located in Rome, the building has achieved BREEAM International New Construction 2016 – Very Good, with an overall score of 65.2%, confirming the effective integration of sustainability principles in a fully fitted industrial asset.

Instead of relying on iconic or showcase solutions, the project focuses on practical and measurable environmental improvements, achieved through targeted and well-balanced design and construction strategies.

In particular, the certified performance highlights:

• strong energy efficiency results, reducing operational consumption and associated emissions;

• excellent water efficiency, achieved through effective demand reduction and control measures;

• robust construction waste management, aligned with circular economy principles;

• solid performance in land use, ecology and pollution control, limiting environmental impacts within an urban setting;

• a pragmatic approach to health, wellbeing and operational comfort, fully aligned with industrial use requirements.

As a result, the project demonstrates how BREEAM certification can enhance the value of urban industrial assets, improving environmental credentials, regulatory compliance and long-term usability while preserving operational reliability and commercial viability.

Throughout the project, ENERGO acted as BREEAM Assessor and sustainability consultant, delivering energy performance modelling, LCA and LCC analyses, commissioning support, indoor air quality assessments, and targeted technical consultancy tailored to a fully fitted industrial building in an urban environment.
